Welcome

You will find in Gerry's Computer Tips a collection of my personal thoughts about how to understand and resolve day to day problems with computers which most users of computers encounter from time to time. They have been formulated  from my use of a succession of computers for business and leisure over a period of more than 15 years.  I hope that you will find some suggestions that help you to resolve some of your problems.

The information throughout  Gerry's Computer Tips is intended to provide simple straight  forward explanations and suggestions to help a typical user of the Microsoft windows operating system. My explanations are offered as a user of computers and not as a "computer professional". Most  experienced users  will already know about many of the points being made.

I am a
retired Chartered Accountant residing in Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire in the UK. I have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy solving computer problems, much as I enjoyed doing crosswords on a train commuting to London in my youth. I have been posting to newsgroups and forums as Gerry C J Cornell since circa 2000 using many of the explanations contained here to answer questions and to enable others to solve their computer problems. My other interests include travel, wild life, history and good food.
